Ferry Services

I offer fully customized ferry services anywhere in the US, Canada and the Caribbean. Let me use my extensive cross-country experience in small aircraft to ferry your aircraft, or enlist my years of project management experience to coordinate the movement of a fleet.

Other ASEL, AMEL, and ASES models can be ferried at additional cost and time for aircraft familiarization and insurance requirements. If you're in a pinch, call me anyway - I may be willing to waive this cost and pay for the familiarization flights (but not for the ferry service).

Ferry FAQ

  • Where can you ferry to or from?

    • Any paved or grass strip in the US, Canada, or the Caribbean, subject to aircraft performance limits.

  • How much will it cost to ferry my plane?

    • Fill out the quote form below and we'll provide a full quote within 48 hours. For urgent needs, call me at +1.734.355.2501.

  • What is included in the ferry cost?

    • Pilot hours to fly the aircraft ($100 per hobbs hour)

    • Estimated fuel cost

    • Estimated landing, parking, hangar, and tie-down fees at origin, destination, and stops in between.

    • Lodging, transportation, and food for the pilot. This includes transportation to the start point of the ferry flight unless arranged otherwise.

    • Any work or time necessary for me to address maintenance issues that occur enroute.

  • What is not included in the ferry cost?

    • Repair of maintenance issues that occur enroute and have to be repaired before completion of the ferry flight.

    • Airspace fees (e.g., NavCanada fees,) that are billed after the flight.

  • How is insurance typically handled for ferry flights?

    • The owner typically has the ferry pilot added to his policy under an open pilot provision or as a temporary named pilot.

    • This will be discussed during planning phase of a ferry flight, and proof of insurance will be required prior to departure.

  • What happens if weather prevents you from delivering the aircraft on time?

    • My mission is to deliver your aircraft safely to the agreed upon location. Maximum effort will be made to deliver it on time without sacrificing safety, but that may mean a delay if weather stands in the way.

  • What happens if there are maintenance issues during the ferry flight?

    • I'll land the plane as soon as practicable, barring a true emergency.

    • The owner will be contacted immediately and advised of the issue.

    • If there is a way to legally and safely continue the flight with the issue (e.g., MEL, VFR flight only, day flight only, or special flight permit,) we will find a way and attempt to do that with the owner's approval.

    • If the issue prevents safe or legal flight, I'll work with the owner to determine the best course of action (call in a preferred mechanic, make arrangements with a local mechanic at the plane's current location, etc.)

  • Can you import/export an aircraft as well as ferry it?

    • I cannot. I ferry aircraft across borders, but import/export of the aircraft is the responsibility of the owner and a customs broker.

  • What types of payment do you accept?

    • Cash, cashier's check, Venmo, Paypal, and Cashapp are all accepted.
